Hybrid

The HT1 transmission combines the VT3 hardware with an Switch Reluctance (SR) Electric Motor and forms the basis of a full hybrid, plug-in ready hybrid powertrain for B, C and D segment. Due to the high peak torque, the SR motor can be linked to the output side of the variator. As a result, it does not suffer from transmission losses during boosting or regeneration. Combined with the CVTs ability to have the engine operate in or near its optimum operating point, the HT1 is able to provide a fuel economy benefit which is far ahead of the competition.
