Plasma transferred arc coating

PTA allows precise control over important welding parameters: gas flow, amperage, voltage, velocity of powder dosage and heat input.
In most cases the typical mixing with PTA can be kept constant between 5 and 7%. In comparison with laser cladding, PTA provides a stronger connection with the raw material and typically thicker layers are applied.
PTA produces top layers of an alloy, which is stronger and more corrosion resistant than the same alloy applied by TIG or autogenous processes. The welding layers have typically low quantities of oxides and impurities.
20 years of experience with automatic PTA welding
Already for years PTA has proven its usefulness with extreme applications. Plasmajet has over 20 years of experience with automatic PTA welding. New developments now also allow for welding internal drillings from a diameter of 75mm up to a depth of 1,200mm!
Typical materials
- Stellite 6 and other cobalt alloys
- Wolfram carbides in matrix
