Broccoli frozen

Purple sprouting broccoli was cooked by the Romans in wine or served with sauces. It is a popular vegetable today and can be served both raw and cooked. It is rich in antioxidants and believed to reduce the risks of certain cancers, in particular, lung and colon. Broccoli should never be overcooked as half of its benefical properties are lost in the process. Serve simply with butter or a hollandaise or bearnaise sauce. It is also excellent stir-fried.
