These products are made from bauxites and refractory clays.
After "tempering" (curing), the cohesion of non-fired products is ensured by a phosphatic chemical bond. This bond has the effect of reducing the porosity thereby improving corrosion resistance.
Final consolidation takes place when the products are used at a sufficiently high temperature as in iron and steelmaking.
